Time’s ticking real slow now, ‘cos in two hour’s time I’ll be leaving for Kuala Lumpur, where my real holiday starts. We (my sis and me) will be stayin over at our aunts’ place and we’ll have fun there until our parents join us at around early December and then we will be literally travelling around the peninsula meeting up with relatives.
Finally, the days of boredom are over, heh. The past few days are nothing but hot, lazy afternoons. To kill time, my friends and I had a few trips to you name it, the movies, bowling, badminton, KFC. For last week alone we visited the cinema three times, watched at least four movies XD. We even got addicted to using the city bus service to and fro the city center, it’s a pretty good experience I must say. Not to mention relieving our parents the hassle of sending us all the way downtown. Other than these trips, there was pretty much nothing to do at home. I would spend my time online until I was sick of it, join the family in watching those boring, lame exciting dramas on TV, poke into some magazines (damn, talk about reading, I ain’t got some good book to read after I finished my Dan Brown in two days) or just doze off on the sofa.
Now lets talk computers. I just got a brand new 160GB Western Digital Caviar external hard disk (picture below). So that’s another 160Gigs to my existing 40GB internal hard disk and another 40GB external. Add em up, you’ll get (160+40+40) some sweet 240Gigs of storage! It’s a 3.5″ Serial ATA so it’s pretty big compared to my 40GB 2.5″ Notebook HDD and does emit some heat ‘cos its pretty hot when you touch it’s sides, think of the sides of your kitchen fridge. The only downside of these two external hard disks is that I have to connect them to my PC via crappy USB. To make things worse, my PC isn’t equipped with USB 2.0. So you can imagine how long it took for me to transfer around 15Gigs of my music onto that beast, but I got it done anyway, had my whole music collection on it and ready to cram it into my lugguage en route to KL! (damn, how I wish I had an iPod for this)
As you can see, it’s enclosure has a classy chrome finish. I like how the was it looks behind my keyboard now, hehe, adds up to the overall coolness of my setup.
If you have read the news, you’ll know that the new Airbus A380 is making some tests flights around Asia and had recently landed in Singapore and Australia. Today, it’ll touch down at KLIA, and I’m lucky enough to be flying there on this very day. Even though I will be reaching there around dusk, I hope I can somehow get a glimpse of this mega bird. Welp, I think I’d better end it here, got a plane to catch!
