Malaysian in Space!

About half an hour ago, a Malaysian was sent hurtling into space in a Russ­ian Soyuz FG launch vehicle.

The his­toric moment was aired live over Astro Chan­nel 588. It was just before sun­set at the Baikonur Cos­mod­rome in Kaza­khstan when the Soyuz rocket with the Jalur Gemi­lang slapped onto it blasted into the sunset.

Cam­eras trained on the rocket until it was a tiny speck of light. Even the 1^st stage sep­a­ra­tion could be seen roughly 2 min­utes into the launch. And not long after that, the rocket exhaust started to leave a beau­ti­ful plume of contrail-like trail in the sky. Pretty cool I must say! XD
